This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday April 16, 2008. Please

An immature female LONG-TAILED DUCK was seen off Dockweiler State Beach in El
Segundo on April 13. This bird was seen near the Hyperion parking lot (between
Imperial Highway and Grand) which is above lifeguard tower #58.
In Ventura County, an adult YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was found near the
Ventura River mouth on April 13. The bird was seen upstream from the bridge.
A BURROWING OWL was found in South Pasadena on April 10, the exact location was
not reported.
An immature male VERMILION FLYCATCHER was at Palos Verdes Nature Park off Palos
Verdes Drive South on April 12. This location is adjacent to the Trump Golf
Course.
