Observers: Neil Gilbert, Jonathan Feenstra, Brian Daniels, Sarah Millspaugh,
Robert McNab, Jeff Ahrens, Joan Rubin, Felicia Lee, Jeff Williams
LEWIS WOODPECKER continues at Irvine Regional Park near parking lot #16
(look in the creek bed area).
REDDISH EGRET continues at Bolsa Chica Preserve. Last weekend, a TROPICAL
KINGBIRD was seen on the bluffs by Seapoint Avenue at Garfield.
HOODED MERGANSERS seen last Friday and Saturday along Aliso Creek in Laguna
Niguel along the bike trail near Foxborough Park and further down near Aliso
Niguel High School track field.
Male EURASIAN WIGEON continues in Lake Forest off of Ridge Route between
Muirlands and Rockfield (Sunday).
BROWN CREEPER continues at Tewinkle Park in Costa Mesa (Sunday).
COMMON POORWILL reported this week.... "at least 6" in an unusual location
in Corona del Mar. At 5th Ave and Poppy Ave there is a paved trail going
into Buck Gully. Go past the construction area, cross the gully over a
paved bridge to a single path....you will need to cross the creek along the
trail..... and between the 2nd and 3rd creek crossing the birds were on the
path after dark. Warning: it takes a lot of work to get to this spot...and
we are talking about after dark.... so be familiar with the area during
daylight and probably it's wise not to bird alone.
