LEWIS WOODPECKER: continuing, Irvine Regional Park around parking lot #16

YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER: reported last Thursday and since at Santiago Oaks
Regional Park, in a large pepper tree overhanging the Santiago Creek Trail.
"From the parking lot, take the trail across the creek, turn left, climb up
the short flight of wooden stairs, and walk down the right fork of the
trail a short distance to where the pepper tree overhangs the trail. "
(Also a RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER reported from the park on Rinker Grove Trail
last Sunday)
EURASIAN WIGEON: one report last Sunday at Tri-City Park in Placentia,
another last Thursday at the outlet of Big Canyon, Upper Newport Bay (off of
East Bluff Dr). A SNOW GOOSE was also reported last Thurday near Shellmaker
Island.
SWAINSON'S HAWK: 20 reported overhead in Orange flying north on Sunday.
TROPICAL KINGBIRD: continuing at San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary from last
Thurs. through Saturday between ponds 1 & 2.
FERRUGINOUS HAWK off Ortega Highway west of Tree of Life nursery. This is a
dangerous road and difficult to safely stop along.
AMERICAN REDSTART: continuing at Laguna Niguel Regional park by outfall dam
(last Friday).
