the lake). Easterly winds that shifted from southerly to northerly.
Raptor Observations:
The last three hours saw the raptors moved onto the hillside when the wind
shifted to northerly. Two non-migrating bald eagles: a juvenile
disappeared far out over the lake to the northwest; an adult disappeared
heading southwest. The first sighting of local goshawks.
Non-raptor Observations:
Mike Ceci, Nick Randell, Jann Randell, Jill and Berk Adams, Tim Baird and
Steve Eaton helped with the count. Thanks Tim and Steve for your
significant contributions.
Predictions:
Partly sunny, warm, brisk southerly winds: a good day, perhaps.

A somewhat sunny day was seen today but with a substantial high thin cloud
layer and haze over the lake. Winds were moderate but brisk off the water
from the southeast.
Raptor Observations:
There was very nice variety today if not really big numbers except for
Rough-legs, a species really hitting their stride right now. Most
interesting was an adult light morph western Red-tail, a variety that is
perhaps overlooked here but most likely occurs as often as dark morphs.
Non-raptor Observations:
The most obvious migrant today was Sandhill Crane with about 200 noted in
all.
