Rain, heavy at times, throughout the day. Up to 5" measured in region.
Within 36 hours, we've gone from High Fire Danger to localized flooding!
Raptor Observations:
Non-raptor Observations:
Predictions:
Light to moderate NW and partly sunny skies. After 3 days of little to no
movement, these conditions should be just fine. Thursday and Friday look
even better. There's still a lot of birds to move through - we're just
starting to see kid Broad-wings. Last year, May 1st featured 272 birds, so
there's still plenty left to count. Remember, the count will go until May
15th this year (May 20th last year), so with some nice weather in store,
and plenty of birds yet to come, we hope to see you up on the Hill!
See you there,
Derek

Weather:
Sunny skies prevailed throughout the day today with moderate
north-northwest and northwest winds.
Raptor Observations:
There was a decent movement of birds today especially given the north
dominated winds, most noticeably the increase in Buteos numbers compared to
the movement the last couple of days.
Non-raptor Observations:
A small group of Boreal Chickadees was noted today, perhaps an expected
event given the sharp increase in Black-capped numbers recently.
