Sunny becoming mostly cloudy; another chilly day, 44-58 degrees; good
visibility; winds started out light and northerly, then turned stronger and
westerly
Raptor Observations:
A second fine day. A Peregrine Falcon, leisurely circling, suddenly went
on a tear as if in a chase. Finally after crossing the sky it pulled up to
meet another Peregrine and the two of them exchanged pleasantries for a few
minutes. At 2 pm EDT Hal Wierenga spied a dark morph Rough-legged Hawk,
only the fourth Rough-leg seen at the hawkwatch and the first since 1985.
The 17 Bald Eagles, including 2 juveniles, were a daily record.
