Gradual clearing took place today over the course of the morning with the
afternoon being partly to mostly sunny. Winds were strong and gusty from
the northwest.
Raptor Observations:
While diversity was very good today, the bulk of the numbers were provided
by Sharpies but with a very good showing by Harriers and Bald Eagles as
well. Not surprising given the strong winds, there was very little
significant Buteo migration.
Non-raptor Observations:
Purple Finches continue to be one the main passerine migrants along with
the first good push of American Pipits.

Kim. Excellent job everyone!
Weather:
Best weather day of the year. Light winds, mostly variable all day long.
Very comfy temps all day. Some helpful clouds in middle of the day. Simpy
awesome weather.
Raptor Observations:
American Kestrels win the Falcon Bowl over the feisty Merlins - 17 American
Kestrels to 14 Merlins. Awesome!
54 Sharp-shinned Hawks! 23 Sharpies in the last 75 minutes... Incredible!
Just an awesome Hawkwatching day...
Non-raptor Observations:
Sandhill Crane - our second of the season. Great spot Patrick!
Another nice day for migrating Double-crested Cormorants on the move.
Black-and-white and Black-throated Green Warblers, onsite.
