This is done to confuse the spam 'bots.

[ << | >> | ^^ ] Subject: [Spam] Red-cockaded woodpecker in the news From: "liz lathrop" <lizbirder(AT)cconnect.net> Date: 8 Aug 2006 6:31am Yesterday's Raleigh News & Observer's featured the Red-Cockaded Woodpecker on its front page ....The endangered status of this woodpecker has people rushing to clear undeveloped lots of pine trees and yanking the woodpecker welcome mat in Boiling Spring Lakes. For the full story, click on this link: http://www.newsobserver.com/672/story/468483.html Liz Lathrop Oriental, NC
[ << | >> | ^^ ] Subject: VA Booby - Request for newsletter submissions From: "Steven Shultz" <SSHULTZ(AT)nc.rr.com> Date: 8 Aug 2006 10:15pm While not in the Carolinas, Carolina-based birders may be interested in a potentially "chasable" Brown Booby in nearby Virginia Beach, Virginia. The bird has been seen daily since last Saturday for several days sitting atop pilings near some "fish pounds" just off Cape Henry at Ft. Storey. See Virginia birds on www.birdingonthe.net for specific directions and recent sighting information. Sounds like a good opportunity for those needing an ABA booby... On the homefront, I am almost done with the next version of the Carolina Bird Club Newsletter. The next edition will likely be a shorter 6-page version. One of the reasons for the smaller edition: we are out of submitted material for publication in future editions! CBC members are welcome (encouraged? begged?) to submit articles for review and possible publication. Have a favorite birding spot? Write it up! Taken an interesting bird tour lately? Let me know! For those interested, see the submission guidelines on the "News and Information Submission" link on the "Member Services" page at www.carolinabirdclub.org Best, Steve Shultz Apex, NC
