04/15/08
Two members of the New York University men's volleyball team have earned All-Academic Team honors form the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA).
Senior captain David Tener has earned the honor for the second time in his NYU career, while junior captain Devin Zolnowski makes the list for the first time.
In order to earn All-Academic honors from the EIVA, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, sport a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50, and must have played in at least 60% of his team's games.
Both Tener (psychology major; 3.86 GPA) and Zolnowski (economics major; 3.59 GPA), have been major contributors to the Violets' success this season.
Tener currently leads the 21-7 #4-ranked (CBS College Sports TV/AVCA) Violets in games played (100) and digs (245), while Zolnowski tops the charts with 387 kills and is second in digs (147) and service aces (25).
