9/07 -- Madison, East River -- 2 WHIMBRELS seen across from the state
boat launch.

9/06 -- Madison, Hammonasset State Park, Meig's Point -- from around
4:30-6:00 p.m., 4-5 Royal Terns traveling east, and another heading
into the harbor; were at least 2 Forster's Terns and 3 Roseate Terns
feeding with Common Terns off the point.

Stratford, Sikorsky Airport -- at 7am, 38 BOAT-TAILED GRACKLES leaving
evening roost near entrance.
Access Road Pool -- 6:50am, 1 WESTERN SANDPIPER.

9/06 - Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill Meadows -- at 4:30pm there were 2 adult
American Golden-Plovers and 1 juvenile and 2 Buff-breasted Sandpipers,
with more birds coming in as the rain began.

Subject: CT Report 09/08/2008 WW Crossbills, Phillies, Olive-sided

9/08 - Ashford -- about two small groups of White-winged Crossbills
(7-10 birds in each flock, mostly males) flew over at a few hundred
feet heading out of the ENE directly to the SW. This was at about
6:00 pm and 6:10 pm. There were high altitude winds out of the west as
indicated by the clouds moving overhead. I know there is a big
movement of this species into northern New England but these are the
southern most I have heard of so far.

9/08 - East Norwalk, 14 Acre Pond, 11 Allen Road -- 6AM, 3PM, 6:15
-6:45PM. I have watched morning and night flights daily of the
Juvenile WHITE IBIS It seems to be very content with it usual areas
and always flies back to the private pond to roost Each evening.

9/09 - Stamford, Cove Island Park sanctuary -- Morning, 1 adult Great
Cormorant off shore from the sanctuary. Evening, Dicksissel,
Lincoln's Sparrow, both in the foxtail grass near the entrance.

9/09 - Southbury, Audubon Center at Bent of the River -- KENTUCKY
WARBLER. (in the mock orange under the big shadblow on the left side
of the path near the paddock as seen from the wood shed near the
barn).

9/09 - Southbury, Audubon Center at Bent of the River -- HOODED
WARBLER. (Flew into the shadblow while we were trying to relocate the
Kentucky). The consensus was adult female.

9/09 - Bridgeport -- Today I was working in Bridgeport on the big red
& white stack at the power plant on the harbor. While at the 240 foot
level, I heard a bird calling above and when I looked up ,3 PERIGRINE
FALCONS flew off the next higher level and headed toward Bridgeport
proper.

Sandpiper; also at spit, in Spartina, 1 Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed
Sparrow.

-- 10.30 to 11.00 am, 1 immature NORTHERN WHEATEAR. Hawking from the
guard poles.

9/10 - West Hartford, Route 44 powerlines -- 16 species of warblers,
highlights; TENNESSEE, BAY-BREASTED, WILSON'S. Also, 1 AMERICAN
WOODCOCK.

9/10 - Middlebury, Sperry Pond -- one AMERICAN BITTERN flushed from
thin row of cattails along main causeway.

9/10 - Westport, Sherwood Island State Park -- from 1:30-2PM, 1
first-year Little Blue Heron in the marsh behind the RC Plane field, 1
first-year Peregrine Falcon hunting over the marsh.
