Subject: list activity

Sorry to post this to the whole list, but I can't find my address for the
administrator. I haven't received a BIRDWG01 message in over a week. Is
this just a slow time, or did I get accidentally dropped from the list? If
the latter, can someone advise me on how to resubscribe?
Thanks,
Bruce Deuel

All NBHC lists are in short term FIFO archives at Jack Siler's
www.birdingonthe.net. You can always check there to see if there has been
recent traffic on BIRDWG01 or any NBHC list.

Subject: Bronzed Cowbirds and N. Am. Birds indices
From: Ian Mclaren <iamclar(AT)IS.DAL.CA>
Date: 11 Oct 2000 11:17am
All:
If anyone out there knows of any records of Bronzed Cowbirds outside their
normal range and in the Gulf states and Florida, could you let me know?
(There are two plausible sightings for Nova Scotia.) I have gleaned N. Am.
Birds from 1997 on and have found none. I have seen a reference somewhere
to a GA occurrence, but don't know where.
BTW, if any good person has composed an e-transmittable list of bold-font
birds, photos, etc., in N. Am. Birds (Am. Birds) from the time when the
annual indices were regretably dropped, it would be a great service to
many of us. Could you let us know its availability?
Thanks, Ian M.

Subject: Empidonax flaviventris call notes

I remember several weeks ago someone mentioning that they heard an odd call
from a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher in migration.
Admittedly, I don't know much about empid call notes, but I found a site
with recordings of empid calls from Costa Rica:
