Hi All,
A RED-NECKED GREBE was off Capitola Bluffs east of the beach this afternoon
(1/18), repeatedly diving and paddling its way toward New Brighton. A
NASHVILLE WARBLER was in the trees at Cliff Ave. x Grand Ave in Capitola.
Another NASHVILLE showed up again in the trees behind the office at St.
Joseph's Chruch in Capitola.

Waterfowl numbers are down at College Lake since my last visit but today
there was a good variety. In amongst the flock of 43 grazing Canada
Geese were 2 "Cacklings", 2 ROSS' GEESE and 5 SNOW GEESE. Also present
were 3 pair of HOODED MERGANSERS. Green-winged Teal can be scarce in SCZ
in the winter but there were 3 present. A flock of 40 Tree Swallows
plied the air over the lake.
Harkins Slough had 3 Greater Scaups, 2M, 1 F.
Cheers,
Roger
