[ << | >> | ^^ ] Subject: [Ontbirds] Great Egrets - Kingston Area From: otoole(AT)kos.net Date: 5 Jul 2009 2:38pm Located a group of Four Great Egret's this afternoon west of Kingston in a marsh off Taylor Kidd Blvd. Same spot as yesterday when two were observed. See link for pic: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2620/3690444275_ccf40a1725.jpg Directions: Take Taylor Kidd Blvd west past the first turn-off into Amherstview. At the bottom of the hill there are two marshes (one on each side of the road opposite each other). Egrets where in the south side marsh. [ << | >> | ^^ ] Subject: [Ontbirds] Brighton Constructed Wetland From: Maureen Lee <briscoedog(AT)hotmail.com> Date: 5 Jul 2009 9:13pm Greetings: What a beautiful sight - The moon rising near the Osprey nest. I am very pleased to report that I just saw Hunter and Junior. Dad was standing on the side of the nest and up popped two very fine looking youngsters. They are quite expert at "firing" their excrement a distance over the side of the nest. Just what everyone wanted to know on a Sunday evening! I saw a first this evening - Tree Swallows were swooping at a passing Sharp-shinned Hawk. These little birds pursued the hawk until it left the boundary of the wetland. Most interesting to say the least. Maureen The wetland is located on the south side of County Road 64 as you are leaving Brighton. _________________________________________________________________ We are your photos.
