The hawk was flying low over some homes through the light snow that was falling at the time. I wish I had my camera with me! The dark lines on the edge of the wings were very noticeable. This morning as I was driving around 15 Mile & Harper around 9:00 am, there was a Great Blue Heron. I pulled onto I94 W and saw it land in some high grass along the entrance ramp. Definitely putting my camera in the car this afternoon! [ << | >> | ^^ ] Subject: [birders] Kensington Metropark From: James Fox <93fox(AT)earthlink.net> Date: 16 Dec 2009 5:16pm I checked out Kensington this afternoon but didn't find much. The best birds were a Pileated Woodpecker and Great Blue Heron by the farm center. The lake is almost entirely frozen over and the only birds in the few open spots were Mute Swans, Canada Geese, and Mallards. There was a flock of Turkeys under the feeders at the nature center, I have posted a photo on my flickr site <http://www.flickr.com/photos/22374475@N07/ >.
