a focus on shorebirding.
WHSRN is a joint program of Manomet Observatory
and
Wetlands International
that focuses on the study, management, and protection of
wetlands and grasslands essential for migratory shorebirds.
In addition to information about WHSRN and its participating migratory reserve sites,
this web site has extensive background material and references
in their Handbook and a photo link library and birding quiz in their Gallery.

This nicely designed site has a good collection of shorebird information.
It has some general info on shorebirds, links to general shorebird web sites
as well as sites on specific species, a photo link gallery,

Knowing the tides is essential for shorebird observation.
Get tide predictions for North America from this site.
Click on the state and then the region you are interested in
to get a list of specific locations. Each location has
time and height differences relative to a reference station.
Click on the reference station link to see times and heights
of high and low tides for the current month.
Site has on-line versions of Monomoy's Refuge brochure and seasonal checklist.
