About The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy is an international conservation organization dedicated to preserving plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. Since 1950, the Conservancy and its members have been involved in the protection of over 6.5 million acres in 50 states, the Virgin Islands, Canada and the Caribbean. The Maine Chapter, formed in 1956, has protected over 90,000 acres of land in Maine. Please contact us if you would like more information about this or other preserves in Maine.
