With an annual number of visitors of hetween 5OO and 80O,
it is essential that every visitor co-operate fully in following
the few basic rules set forth below.
By following these you are permitted considerable freedom allowing you to
go among the colonies of most species without causing undue disturbance
to the nesting birds.
Your cooperation is fulIy appreciated and we wish you an enjoyable and rewarding visit.
PRECAUTIONS
- Please Do Not Molest the birds.
- Please remain in the blinds or on the observation deck or close around the building.
Stay off helicopter pad.
- Walk slowly and watch where you put your feet.
Young tern chicks are aways on the paths during the rearing period.
You have ample time for a related v isit.
- Do not remain too long at one site when walking along the path through
the tern colony. It could be harmful if adult terns stay too long from their nests.
- When using the blinds overlooking the Puffin and Razorbill colonies
be courteous to others who may also wish to use them.
If you are waiting remain on the mowed areas until the others return.
Three people can occupy a blind at one time
- Please take your sandwich wrappers, pop cans, etc. with you when
you leave the island and be cafeful with cigar and cigarette butts.
- Follow the suggestions of the caretaker--- he is there to assist you.
The trip can be hazardous especially if you land on the island,
participation is at your own risk.
