SIGHTINGS FOR JUL 24:
RED KNOT - breeding plumaged bird seen by Bob Storms at the south end
of Weed Lake, on Hwy 560 at Langdon
SIGHTINGS FOR JUL 25:
HUDSONIAN GODWIT - 8 seen by Bill Wilson at the slough east of Shepard
(Twp Rd 232)
RED-NECKED PHALAROPE - 4 - BW - same slough as above
STILT SANDPIPER - 1 - BW - as above
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER - 2 - as above
LEAST SANDPIPER - 2 - as above
BAIRD'S SANDPIPER - 15 - as above
PECTORAL SANDPIPER - 2 - as above
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER - 35 - above slough
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER - an adult and a juvenile seen by Terry Korolyk in
a muddy depression on the east side of 96 St SE just north of the
Davisburg Community Hall north of Hwy 552.
SAY'S PHOEBE - Al Borgardt and Tony Timmons saw one at the south end
of 72 St SE; and another at the south end of Rge Rd 290.
RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER - a juvenile in Votier's Flats in west Fish Creek
PP, seen by Terry Korolyk. It was in the mixed woodland directlly
south of the parking lot.
The next scheduled update of the bird alert is on Thu Jul 29.

Bird Study Group meets 1st Wednesday of the month, Room 211,
BioSciences Building, U of C
except June through August when field trips replace the meetings.

ensure vehicle space for return

LIVERWORTS. Rain date, Aug 21. Join leaders, Doug Waylett and Sandra

Inglewood Bird Sanctuary is a City of Calgary Natural Area. Staff
offers information, courses and field trips relating to natural
history. For information, call 311 during office hours and ask for
the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.
