Welcome to the Arkansas Rare Bird Alert for March 27, 2008, sponsored by the
Audubon Society of Central Arkansas (ASCA). ASCA meets at 7:00pm the second
Thursday of each month at the John Gould Fletcher Library, located at 823
Buchanan St. on the corner of Buchanan and H Streets in Little Rock. The next
meeting will be April 10th. The meeting topic will be “Ecology of Prescribed
Burning” presented by Roger Fryar, USDA Forest Service. The next field trip
will be April 12th to Cook’s Lake Conservation Education Center and the White
River NWR Visitor Center. This trip will leave from the south end of the
commuter parking lot at I-630 and Shackleford Rd in Little Rock at 7:00am.

Shorebirds in the Punkin Center Rd. (northern Poinsett Co.) area today, and
also on CR 452 (southern Craighead Co.) include (rough estimates):

A Cackling Goose was seen at Craighead Forest Park. The bird was just off the
primitive campground.
