Welcome to the Arkansas Rare Bird Alert for August 7, 2008, sponsored by the
Audubon Society of Central Arkansas (ASCA). ASCA meets at 7:00pm the second
Thursday of each month at the John Gould Fletcher Library, located at 823
Buchanan St. on the corner of H and Buchanan Streets in Little Rock.
From around the state recent sightings are:
At Centerton State Fish Hatchery in Northwest Arkansas, a Least Grebe has been
photographed and videotaped on the most southeastern pond. If the main gate is
closed, park outside and enter through the pedestrian gate. Don't block the main
entrance.
A Willet is present in the middle shorebird pond at Bald Knob NWR in White
County.
