Welcome to the Arkansas Rare Bird Alert for August 22, 2008, sponsored by the
Audubon Society of Central Arkansas (ASCA). ASCA meets at 7:00pm the second
Thursday of each month at the John Gould Fletcher Library, located at 823
Buchanan St. on the corner of H and Buchanan Streets in Little Rock.

From around the state recent sightings are:

Swainson's Hawk and a Great -tailed Grackle are being seen in the area between
Vaughn and Centerton. Take Hwy 102 into Centerton. Turn south at McDonalds.
This turns into Ginn Rd after you pass the hatchery. Go to the T at the end of
the road. Check the dairy farm on Barron Road for Great-tailed Grackles, as
well.

For those interested in seeing an albino ruby-throated hummingbird that is
visiting a feeder at a residence between Warren and Hermitage, contact Janie
Griffin who lives near Warren (between Warren and Hermitage) at 870-463-2883.

Thanks for calling the Arkansas Rare Bird Alert. Your contributions make the
Rare Bird Alert possible. If you would like to leave a message, please wait for
 the chirp. Good Birding!
