With all of the great birds this week, it's hard to keep them all
straight! Importantly, I forgot the Rose-throated Becard in California
Gulch. (Duh.) The complete updated version can be viewed/printed at
http://www.tucsonaudubon.org/birding/seazrba.htm.
CALIFORNIA GULCH
A male *ROSE-THROATED BECARD was photographed at the Gulch on 6/4
(Andrew Spencer). Specifically, the bird was perched in an ocotillo just
below the large cattle guard that has concrete ramps on either side,
adjacent to the first parking area encountered for the Gulch (described
in both local site guides).
The summer resident *BUFF-COLLARED NIGHTJAR(S) at the adjacent Oro
Blanco Mine continue to be heard and sometimes seen this week (var obs).
Good birding,
John Yerger
