This is a summary of reports from the Northern California 
BirdBox, sponsored by the Golden Gate Audubon Society, compiled
18 February 2008 at 08:30 p.m.

Highlights: RED-NECKED GREBE, EURASIAN WIGEON, TUFTED DUCK, 
HARLEQUIN DUCK, LONG-TAILED DUCK, COMMON MERGANSER, GLAUCOUS GULL, WHIMBREL,
RUDDY TURNSTONE, MOUNTAIN PLOVER, BLACK-NECKED STILT.

San Mateo Co.

On Feb 17, a 1st cycle GLAUCOUS GULL was seen at the Elephant Seal 
Viewing Area at Ano Nuevo State Reserve. (Peter Metropulos)

San Francisco Co.

On Feb 18, a COMMON MERGANSER was seen off Crissy Field between the 
fishing pier (Torpedo Wharf) and the Farallone Pier. (Nathaniel Wander)

On Feb 16, the male HARLEQUIN DUCK, the male EURASIAN WIGEON and a 
BLACK-NECKED STILT were seen at Heron's Head Park. (Al DeMartini)

From 101, take the Cesar Chavez/Army Street exit. Go east on Cesar 
Chavez. Turn right on Third Street. Turn left on Cargo Way, which dead 
ends at the park entrance. To use mass transit, take #19 Polk bus to 
Evans Avenue and Jennings Street. Walk down Jennings to Cargo Way. 
The park is at the intersection of Jennings and Cargo Way.

Alameda Co.

On Feb 17, the TUFTED DUCK continues at Lake Merritt. And a 
RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER was seen near the non-functional fountain.

Sonoma Co.

On Feb 18, (1) LONG-TAILED DUCK was seen near the Tides Restaurant at 
Bodega Bay. A WHIMBREL and RUDDY TURNSTONE were seen at the north end of 
the parking lot at Tides Restaurant. From Campbell Cove, a 
RED-NECKED GREBE was seen in the channel between the jetties.

On Feb 18, (50) MOUNATIN PLOVERS were seen in the field across the road 
from the "Enjoy California Sheep" sign along Hwy 113, between Creed and
