This is a summary of reports from the Northern California 
BirdBox, sponsored by the Golden Gate Audubon Society, compiled
05 March 2008 at 06:15 a.m.

Highlights: LONG-TAILED DUCK, BALD EAGLE, MOUNTAIN PLOVER, RUFF, 
GLAUCOUS GULL, MARBLED MURRELET.  

Alameda Co.
-----------
On Feb 28, a 1st cycle GLAUCOUS GULL was seen by Michael San Miguel
in Livermore, north of Hwy 580. There is a shallow pond off of
Laughlin Road and Lake. (John Luther)

San Francisco Co.
-----------------
On Jan 6, the GLAUCOUS GULL continues at Stow Lake. This time, the bird
was on the structure near the Boat House. (2-3) RED-NECKED GREBES and a 
several WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were seen from the Cliff House. in 
Golden Gate Park, (2) COMMON MERGANSERS and two pairs of 
HOODED MERGANSERS continue at Lloyd Lake. (Josiah Clark)

Marin Co.

On Mar 4, a sub adult BALD EAGLE was seen from Kirby Cove, flying
north into the county. (Tim Behr)

Monterey and Santa Cruz Co.
---------------------------
On Mar 3, a pelagic trip from Monterey reported (2) LAYSAN ALBATROSS, 
(12) BLACK-FOOTED ALBATROSS, (26) NORTHERN FULMAR, (2) SHORT-TAILED
SHEARWATER, 
(1) MARBLED MURRLET off the Hopkins Marine Lab, (3) LONG-TAILED DUCK 
in the harbor, (800) BRANDT'S CORMORANT on the Coast Guard Jetty, 
and (13) BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE. (Debi Shearwater) 

Solano Co.
----------
On Mar 4, at 900am, (200) MOUNTAIN PLOVERS were seen along Hwy 113,
across from the sign "Enjoy California Lamb". But they were not
seen at 1000am. (Jean Richmond)

Yolo Co.
--------
On Mar 4, the RUFF was seen briefly flying south, just east
of parking lot "A" at Vic Fazio Wildlife Area. (Jean Richmond)
