This is a summary of reports from the Northern California
BirdBox, sponsored by the Golden Gate Audubon Society, compiled
13 April 2008 at 07:10 a.m.
Highlights: BRANT, LONG-TAILED DUCK, POMARINE JAEGER, ROCK SANDPIPER,
CASSIN'S KINGBIRD, GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE.
San Francisco Co.

On Apr 11, a male GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was on the south side
of the Concrete Bridge at the south end of Lake Merced along
John Muir Drive. A HOODED ORIOLE was also seen here. A
RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was seen at Presidio Hills and a flyover
WESTERN KINGBIRD. The BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was seen from the
15th Ave parking lot at Lobos Dunes. (Dominik Mosur)
San Mateo Co.

On Apr 12, a CASSIN'S KINGBIRD was seen passing through and departing
Coyote Point. (Ron Thorn)
On Apr 11, the LONG-TAILED DUCK continues to be seen in the channel
by the Coyote Point Marina. On Apr 10, sea watch from Pigeon Point
reported (21) SOOTY SHEARWATERS, a LONG-TAILED DUCK, a POMARINE JAEGER,
and high counts 0f (2892) PACIFIC LOONS and (1263) BRANT. (Ron Thorn)
Mendocino Co.

On Apr 12, (3) LONG-TAILED DUCKS and (2) ROCK SANDPIPERS were seen
from the bluff just west of the southern end of MacKerricher
State Park, opposite the parking lot. The birds were near or on
the rocks just west of the Haul Road parking lot, north of Pudding
Creek along Hwy 1, north Fort Bragg. The parking lot is located
near the Beachcomber and Surf & Sand motels.
