BirdBox, sponsored by the Golden Gate Audubon Society, compiled
17 March 2010 at 08:30 p.m.
Highlights: MANX SHEARWATER, REDHEAD, COMMON MERGANSER, BALD EAGLE,
PEREGRINE FALCON, SWAINSON'S HAWK, BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE,
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER, NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH.
Alameda Co.

On Mar 14, a female REDHEAD and (6) COMMON MERGANSER were seen at
Lake Merritt. (Logan Kahle)
Marin Co.

On Mar 15, the wintering NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH that was found on '09 Pt.
Reyes CBC by Todd Easterla, continues in the same area as reported previously,
west of the large pull-out, north side of Sir Francis Drake, just past
the sign for Drake's View Way between Inverness and Inverness Park.
(2) BALD EAGLES were seen flying over heading east over Tomales Bay.

San Mateo Co.

On Mar 16, an adult dark-morph SWAINSON'S HAWK was seen flying over
Hwy 101, near the Broadway Exit in Burlingame. (Ron Thorn)
On Mar 13, a sea watch from Pigeon Point reported (1) MANX SHEARWATER,
and (2) BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE. The HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER continues at
the end of Water Lane in the town of Pescadero. Park at the rangers
station and walked the trail next to the Monterey Pines. The bird was
foraging between the Monterey Pines and Pescadero Creek.

On Mar 13, the YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER continues east of the
intersection of Creek and Arbor in Menlo Park. On Mar 11, a
PEREGRINE FALCON was sitting in the highest redwood tree at the
corner of Sharon Road and Allschul Ave in Menlo Park.
