We have a new accessory website that has recent photos of rarities (when
submitted) and maps of some birding spots in the County, including a map of

Observers: Kaaren Perry, Jim Pike, Brian Daniels, Leo Ohtsuki, Gary Rankin,
Neil Gilbert, Leigh Johnson, Jennifer Rycenga.
AMERICAN REDSTART refound last Saturday in willows on the west side of the
road at the intersection of Jamboree and Santa Barbara.
HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER on Saturday in willows and acacias below homes in the
northeast end of the Big Canyon willows at Upper Newport Bay. Another
Hammond's was seen by Brian Daniels and Leo Ohtsuki in the back area of San
Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary on the 9th.
EURASIAN WIGEON reported at Upper Newport Bay above the "nature/interpretive
center" (?) and also a SNOW GOOSE reported closer to the center. Both seen
last Saturday.
PRAIRIE WARBLER, male, seen at the entrance of Crescent Bay Park in north
Laguna Beach last Sunday.
REDDISH EGRET, perhaps two separate individuals, seen on the 11th, one from
Bolsa Chica Preserve (also on the 13th), the other at the mainly
closed-to-public Seal Beach NWR.
LEWIS WOODPECKER continues at Irvine Regional Park, probably around parking
lot #16. (last thursday)
