HOODED WARBLER: Huntington Central Park: 6/3 singing male in hedges lining
ditch on e side of Slater Street parking lot
WHITE-EYED VIREO: Huntington Central Park, singing, around entrance of the
Shipley Nature Center (west side of park) 5/31.. looked for on 6/1 but not
seen (although a PHAINOPEPLA was in the same area).
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK: A number have been reported, two singing males at
Huntington Central Park and a female on the 31st on the east side around the
"Island" area; another male at Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster in
the ne section of the cemetery (along with a possible singing INDIGO
BUNTING, heard but not seen), and another 2 male Grosbeak on the 28th on
private property in Costa Mesa.
NORTHERN PARULA, 5/31, Huntington Central Park east side around Jack Green
Nature Area.
BRANT: Seal Beach area, 6/1 (3)
LAWRENCE GOLDFINCH: Carbon Canyon Regional Park, pine trees by tennis court,
possibly nesting situation, seen "last weekend".
CHIPPING SPARROW: late sighting, "last weekend", Craig Regional Park
REDDISH EGRET: 5/30, Bolsa Chica Preserve, continuing bird.
