sponsored by Denver Field Ornithologists and the Rocky Mountain Bird
Observatory.

Highlight species include: Greater Scaup, Long-tailed Duck, WHITE IBIS, 
GLOSSY IBIS, Broad-winged Hawk, Merlin, Snowy Plover, Dunlin, Glaucous Gull, 
Caspian Tern, White-winged Dove, INCA DOVE, Greater Roadrunner, Red-bellied 
Woodpecker, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, Black Phoebe, Eastern Phoebe, VERMILION 
FLYCATCHER, SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER, LONG-BILLED THRASHER, Curve-billed
Thrasher,
Black-throated Gray Warbler, YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, Black-and-white Warbler, 
Rufous-crowned Sparrow, Sage Sparrow, Fox Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow, Northern 
Cardinal, and Rosy-Finches.

Adams County:
A GLOSSY IBIS was reported by Leukering on the west side of Buckley Road 
south of 126th on April 18.

Baca County:
--At Two Buttes SWA Pieplow reported an EASTERN PHOEBE on April 15.

Bent County:
--At Blue Lake Pieplow reported three SNOWY PLOVERS on April 15.
--A SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was reported by Gibbons and Iliff below Hasty 
along the road south of the campground and near the bridge on April 16.
--A BLACK PHOEBE was reported by Gibbons and Iliff at Carrizo Creek on April 
17.
--At Campo cemetery a male VERMILION FLYCATCHER was reported by Gibbons and 
Iliff on April 17.

Boulder County:
--A possible GLOSSY or HYBRID IBIS was reported by Szeliga at the easternmost 
Swede Lake between Boulder and Longmont on April 16.  Swede Lakes are between 
63rd and 75th Streets and north of Lagerman Reservoir.
--A FOX SPARROW (slate-colored) was reported by Boyce in the parking lot for 
the Mesa Trail in south Boulder on April 17.

El Paso County:
--A LONG-BILLED THRASHER, initially found by Percival on January 14, was seen 
as recently as April 16 on a private ranch.  An EASTERN TOWHEE and 
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER were also reported by Percival at the same location on
April 16.
--A YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was found by a group of United Kingdom birders at 
Palmer Lake on April 15.  The bird was seen again on April 16 in the 
southeast corner of the lake.
--A male LONG-TAILED DUCK was reported by Peterson at Big Johnson Reservoir 
on April 18.

Gunnison County:
--ROSY-FINCHES are coming to feeders in the yard of Linda Powers at 324 
Whiterock (Corner of 4th) in Crested Butte.  They were still being seen as of
April
18.   Most are Brown-capped.

Jefferson County:
--At the Dinosaur Ridge Hawk Watch on April 14, Walbek reported two 
BROAD-WINGED HAWKS and one MERLIN.

Kiowa County:
--One SNOWY PLOVER was reported by Pieplow at Long Lake on April 15.

Larimer County:
--A SAGE SPARROW was reported by Roederer at Chat Flat in the bird sanctuary 
at Lake Estes on April 13.
--Three GREATER SCAUP were reported by Komar at Fossil Creek Reservoir on 
April 16.
--Komar reported that a CASPIAN TERN flew over Greenbriar Park baseball 
fields in northeast Fort Collins on April 17.

Logan County:
--A WHITE IBIS was reported by Laczek-Johnson on a pond just south of CR 64.5 
between CR 89 and 93 northeast of Crook on April 10.  The ibis was seen again 
on April 15.
--At Tamarack Ranch SWA at Area 7, Roller reported NORTHERN CARDINAL and 
RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER on April 12.

Montrose County:
--Three singing BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS were reported by Dexter near 
Biscuit Rock which is west of the Dolores River on April 14.

Otero County:
--Two INCA DOVES and a single WHITE-WINGED DOVE were reported by Percival in 
Rocky Ford on April 14.
--In the Higbee area, Percival reported one CURVE-BILLED THRASHER and four 
RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROWS on April 14.
--At Lake Cheraw, Percival reported two SNOWY PLOVERS on April 14.

Prowers County:
--A GREATER ROADRUNNER was reported by Pieplow in Lamar on April 15.
--A RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER was reported by Pieplow at the Lamar Community 
College Grove on April 15.
--At Thurston SWA, Pieplow reported one GLOSSY IBIS on April 15.

Pueblo County:
--A SWAMP SPARROW was reported by Percival in the Pueblo section of Chico 
Basin Ranch on April 16.
--A juvenile YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Percival at Pueblo City 
Park east of the pond in pine trees on April 17.

Weld County:
--A second summer GLAUCOUS GULL was reported by Wild at the Weld County 
Landfill which is west of Ault off of Hwy 14 on April 13.
--A DUNLIN was reported by Wild on the south side of Lower Latham Reservoir 
on April 14.  It was on the south side of the road in a shallow pond.  It  was 
with a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER. Both birds were transitioning to breeding  
plumage. Both birds were seen again on April 15.

Yuma County:
--Three SNOWY PLOVERS were reported by Pieplow at the west end of Bonny 
Reservoir on April 16.

The field trip for Saturday, April 22 is along the St Vrain and South Platte 
Rivers led by Dick Pratt.  Meet the leader at 0830 at the Park n' Ride on the 
southeast corner of the intersection of I-25 and Hwy 119.  Full day; bring 
lunch.  May go to Lower Latham for early shorebirds.  Call

Roni Wilson, Chris Owens, Wayne and Diana Johnston.  Meet the leaders at 0800
