On Mar. 18 off Cabretta (Sapelo) Island, with a 40-knot nor'easter
whipping the seas, 9-10 jaegers were seen hunting, nearly a mile out,
during a brief period. Based on size, one appeared to be a POMARINE
JAEGER and the rest were probable PARASITIC JAEGERs (BB). Two more
jaegers were seen off Sapelo, flying north, Mar. 19 (KA,BB). At least a
dozen PIPING PLOVERs were on Nannygoat Beach, Sapelo, Mar. 19.
A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was seen along Root Patch Rd., Sapelo Island, Mar.
18. Several CHUCK-WILL'S WIDOWs were heard Mar. 17 (KA,BB).
On Jekyll Island Mar. 17, 14 WILSON'S PLOVERs were on the South End and a
SURF SCOTER and a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER were seen at the North End (LT).
The season's first report of CHUCK-WILL'S WIDOW for Georgia was Mar. 14
near the Brunswick River (BW).
Wakulla Co., Florida

A first-of season GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHER and a SWALLOW-TAILED KITE
and many SORAs were seen Mar. 19 at St. Marks NWR (TC).
A first-of-season HOODED WARBLER was heard just south of Wakulla Springs
SP Mar. 20 (JE).
Leon Co., Florida

A PINE SISKIN and both gray and red phase EASTERN SCREECH-OWLs have been
seen at a Tallahassee-area yard (contact bkscott@nettally.com; BS).
A STILT SANDPIPER was at Springhill Rd. wastewater facility Mar. 19 (GM).
7 BALTIMORE ORIOLEs are visiting a feeder on Velda Dairy Rd. (KM).
As of Mar. 12, a male WILSON'S WARBLER (resident all winter) was still
being seen at San Luis Mission Park (AK fide GM).
Other: a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was reported (fide GM) from southern
Suwannee Co. (no other locality info. given) from Mar. 7 to at least Mar.
16).
