BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCKS have been reported from several areas in the
state. They are most reliable at the Altamaha SWMA located along US 17
south of Daren, GA, where 23 were reported on the east side of US 17 (Butler
Island) from there on 6/15. Also reported this past weekend from the
Altamaha were 7 ROSEATE SPOONBILLS, 12 BLACK-NECKED STILTS, WOOD STORKS,
LEAST BITTERNS, GLOSSY IBIS, WHITE IBIS and MOTTLED DUCKS:

Four BLACK- BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCKS were seen on Cherokee Lake, Thomasville,
GA, on 6/5 or 6/6.

A ROSEATE SPOONBILL has been seen regularly at a small pond along Old
Groveland Rd. off of GA 67 in south Bulloch Co. through 6/12.

A ROSEATE SPOONBILL has also been reported from the intersection of US 441 &

6/13.

A RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES were seen again in western Fannin Co. along Forest
Service 126 (Foster Branch Rd.) on 6/11.

On 6/13, an adult SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was seen in northwest Murray Co.
in a field southwest of the intersection of GA 2 and Shields Rd. Four

On 6/14, twelve species of warblers including KENTUCKY WARBLERS and
BLUE-WINGED WARBLERS, and several SCARLET TANAGERS were seen in Dawson
Forest WMA along Dawson Forest Rd.
