NORTHERN PINTAILS were seen at West Point Lake in Troup County on the 26th 
and the 27th.

COMMON GOLDENEYES were seen on both the 26th and 27th, and EARED GREBES 
were seen on the 26th, at West Point Lake in Troup County during 
successful searches to relocate the adult Ivory Gull.

A first Georgia record IVORY GULL, an adult, was found at West Point Lake 
and Dam near West Point, Georgia, and in Troup County on the 25th.  The 
bird has been relocated and photographed, sometimes at quite close range, 
daily since then.  Currently there are at least 41 reports on Georgia 
Birders Online (http://listserv.uga.edu/archives/gabo-l.html) concerning 
the bird.

During the morning search for the Ivory Gull on the 26th a 1st winter 
THAYER'S GULL was found and photographed at West Point Dam near West 
Point, Georgia, in Troup County.  The bird has not been reported since.

After being discovered on 1/2, a 2nd Georgia record BUFF-BELLIED
HUMMINGBIRD, an AHY (After Hatching Year) female, was banded at a private
residence on St. Simons Island in Glynn County on 1/5.  So far the hummer
has continued everyday at the site since the banding.  Contact procedures
and location information are contained in the first two following GABO-L
posts.  Please try to limit your calls to the homeowners to requesting
permission to visit and to scheduling your visit, using for directions the
information contained in the posts.  Please attempt to carpool as much as
possible to minimize disruption for the homeowners. Also, it is requested
that flashes not be used when photographing the hummingbird.

A VIRGINIA'S WARBLER, Georgia's 2nd, continues daily at a home in 
Valdosta, in Lowndes County.  First seen on the 15th, and seen daily 
since, this warbler is most reliably showing up at first light each 
morning for a brief period to visit a hummingbird feeder.  The homeowner 
is welcoming folks to try for the bird, contact information is in the 
second post following.
