reported.

There have been two releases of captured, cleaned, relocated, and 
rehabilitated BROWN PELICANS conducted in the Brunswick area in Glynn 
County. These birds are victims of the ongoing BP oil spill in the Gulf of 
Mexico.

Recent sighting and banding information, as well as the Brunswick area 
release details for these birds can be read in the following posts. It is 
requested that sightings of these birds be reported to the Georgia RBA 
with as much information as possible (time, location, and banding 
information), and that they also be reported according to any additional 
instructions in the posts.

On 6/21 1 SWALLOW-TAILED KITE and 1 MISSISSIPPI KITE were seen over 
Watkinsville in Oconee County, and well into the Piedmont region of 
Georgia, indicating post-breeding dispersal as well.

A flock of 13 MISSISSIPPI KITES was reported from Lamar County on 6/22.

2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS were seen in Canton in Cherokee County on 6/27. The 
compiler notes that fall shorebird migration will soon start to begin in 
earnest.

On 6/20 and far into northwestern Georgia 3 inland CASPIAN TERNS were 
found at Carter's Reregulation Lake in Murray County.

Also on 6/20 a female YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was seen at Memorial Park 
in Athens in Clarke County.

On 6/19 in Rabun County 4 LEAST FLYCATCHERS and 2 PINE SISKINS were 
observed.

Also in Rabun County, and on 6/27, 1 LEAST FLYCATCHER, 3 RED-BREASTED 
NUTHATCHES, 1 GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET and 3 PINE SISKINS were found.

In the northern coastal plain, on 6/26, 1 PAINTED BUNTING was found in 
Dooley County and 2 PAINTED BUNTINGS were found in Crisp County.

On 7/1 a DICKCISSEL was sighted at the Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge 
(Bradley Unit) in Stewart County in far west central Georgia, a possible 
first record for the refuge.
