A LITTLE STINT was on the Yakima River delta in Richland, xxx Co WA on 7 Aug
according to Bill and Nancy LaFramboise. Unfortunately, the mud disappeared
the following day. Here are the directions to the delta, however. The delta
is west of Bateman Island and Wye Neighborhood Park. From WA 240, take the
Columbia Center Blvd exit. Turn north (toward the Columbia River). At the
end of the road, turn left, go approx 0.5 mile. Bateman Island and Wye Park
are there. Just west of the park, take a right on the dirt road that leads
to a boat launch. The road goes between the delta and the dike. Drive west
to the end (behind the BenFranklin bus depot). Park and walk west. A scope
will be very useful.

A SANDERLING, probably only the second record for Spokane Co WA, was seen 21
Jul by Fran Haywood, and then again on 22 by Gina Sheridan and 23 by Craig
Corder. The bird was at
West Medical Lake, last seen 30 feet west of the farthest boat launch.
Another WA SANDERLING was seen 28 Jul by Doug Schonewald at Perch Point on
Potholes Reservoir, Grant Co. Gina Sheridan reports another Grant Co
SANDERLING on 29 Jul at East Beach on Soap Lake. DIRECTIONS: Perch Point
gravel pit [aka Medicare Beach] on Potholes Reservoir, Grant Co WA. Potholes
Reservoir is southeast of Moses Lake. From I-90 in Moses Lake, take exit
179. Turn south on WA 17 and go about 1 mile, then turn right onto Road M
SE. Drive about 6 or 6.5 miles and turn right onto Road 6 SE. Go west about
3 miles. Here the road goes up a steep hill and turns sharply right amongst
a village of trailer houses. Just past this sharp right, turn left onto an
unimproved dirt road toward Potholes Reservoir. Continue on to the gravel
pit (aka Perch Point or Medicare Beach). Right on the bottom of WA DeLorme
69, 6 and 7 or right at the top of page 53, 6 and 7. Soap Lake is near the
town of Soap Lake, Grant Co WA and north-northeast of Moses Lake. WA DeLorme
68-69, A right on the crease.

LEAST FLYCATCHERS are still being seen.... on 1 Aug Gina Sheridan reports
one on the grad of Kirkpatrick Road in Pend Oreille Co WA. Terry Gray
reports the Latah Co ID LEFY is still at the Phillips Farm Co Park just
north of Moscow as of 3 Aug.

Good birding.
