EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS -

This is the Voice of Audubon for Friday, March 21.

The GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE along South Main Street in
Sharon was reported again on Tuesday, and also in the vicinity were 4 

KILLDEER, 150 HORNED LARKS, several FISH CROWS, and 40
SNOW BUNTINGS.

Reports from Plum Island this week have included 1 RED-SHOULDERED
HAWK, 1 WILSON'S SNIPE, 4 NORTHERN SHRIKES, and 1 COMMON
RAVEN, and at the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in
Concord there were 13 WOOD DUCKS, 11 COMMON GOLDENEYE,
7 RING-NECKED DUCKS, and 2 AMERICAN COOTS.

Seen in Braintree were 15 CANVASBACKS, 1 AMERICAN COOT,
1 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, and 1 RUBY-CROWNED
KINGLET, recent reports from Nantucket have included 29 AMERICAN
OYSTERCATCHERS, 3 YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS, 1
NORTHERN SHRIKE, and 20 COMMON REDPOLLS, and miscellaneous
reports this week have included a probable EARED GREBE along the
waterfront roughly midway between Carson Beach in South Boston and
the JFK Library in Dorchester, 2 COMMON REDPOLLS and 2 PINE
SISKINS in Merrimac, 5 CANVASBACKS, 48 HOODED MERGANSERS,
and 2 TREE SWALLOWS in Pepperell, 5 KILLDEER, 2 FOX SPARROWS,
and a PINE GROSBEAK in Groton, a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER
and 6 TREE SWALLOWS in Wayland, a COMMON RAVEN in Concord, a
SNOW GOOSE at Horn Pond in Woburn, 2 CANVASBACKS in Belmont, a
PEREGRINE FALCON in Jamaica Plain, 1 FOX SPARROW at the Stony
Brook sanctuary in Norfolk, a TREE SWALLOW at Duxbury Beach, 4
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS at the Cumberland Farm fields in Middleboro,
13 CANVASBACKS and 5 TREE SWALLOWS in Lakeville, 3 OSPREYS and
an AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER in Mashpee, 2 OSPREYS in Barnstable,
a THICK-BILLED MURRE in Brewster, and displaying AMERICAN
WOODCOCKS in Boxford, Concord, and Newton.
