EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS

This is the Voice of Audubon for Friday, February 19.

The TUFTED DUCK was still present today on the Sudbury River north of 
the
Rt. 27 bridge in Wayland and Sudbury. Also in the area were 15 MUTE 
SWANS,
9 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 2 LESSER SCAUP, 9 COMMON GOLDENEYE,
1 possible BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, 12 COMMON MERGANSERS,
1 TURKEY VULTURE, and 1 BALD EAGLE.

Noted yesterday in the Newburyport/Salisbury area were 1 LESSER 
SCAUP,
4 RED-NECKED GREBES, 3 BALD EAGLES, 17 BLACK-LEGGED
KITTIWAKES, 16 RAZORBILLS, 35 RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS, 1
EASTERN MEADOWLARK, and 5 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS.

A report from Milton included 17 WILD TURKEYS, 2 COMMON RAVENS,
1 FOX SPARROW, and 32 RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS, and seen in
Lakeville were 17 WOOD DUCKS, 11 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 1 PIED-
BILLED GREBE, 3 BALD EAGLES, 1 ICELAND GULL, 1 GLAUCOUS
GULL, and 1 GRAY CATBIRD.

Miscellaneous reports this week included a KING EIDER, 4 TURKEY
VULTURES, and 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS in Gloucester, a MERLIN in
Lowell, a BALD EAGLE in Marlboro, 4 AMERICAN WIGEON at Belle
Isle marsh in East Boston, a WOOD DUCK and a FOX SPARROW in the
Fenway section of Boston, a TURKEY VULTURE in Plymouth, a KING
EIDER and 4 HARLEQUIN DUCKS at Scusset Beach in Sandwich, a
EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL in Falmouth, and 1 EURASIAN
WIGEON and 1 BLACK-HEADED GULL at Nantucket.

On Saturday, March 6, Mass Audubon and the Manomet Center for
Conservation Sciences will cosponsor the 18th annual Massachusetts
