Fairhaven State Park: March 16- The TUFTED DUCK was relocated in the pond at
Fairhaven State Park along with good numbers of RING-NECKED DUCK and both
SCAUP species.
Pittsford: March 18- 18 HOODED MERGANSERS were at King's Bend Park in
Pittsford along Rt 96 just east of Clover St.
Hamlin area: Hamlin Beach State Park: On the 14th a RED-NECKED GREBE was
close to shore. SNOW GEESE were reported in fields in Kendell and along Brick
Schoolhouse Rd. in Hamlin that day.
Montezuma NWR: Huge numbers of SNOW GEESE have been reported particularly
along Rt. 31 east the Rt. 89 intersection, in the Savannah Mucklands.
Chili: March 9- TUNDRA SWANS were in a flooded field on the south side of
Beaver Rd. near Arch Rd.
Braddock Bay State Park: March 14 - There were good numbers of RING-NECKED
DUCK, AMERICAN WIGEON, and GADWALL on the bay. 3 BLUE MORPH SNOW GEESE, a
NORTHERN SHRIKE, and an immature BALD EAGLE were also reported that day. A
decent overflight on the 11th included 2 GOLDEN EAGLES, 1 PEREGRINE FALCON 2
NORTHERN GOSHAWKS and a fair number of RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS.
Perinton: March 15: The gulls from High Acres Landfill gathered in the
field and pond at the corner of Wakeman Rd and Rt 31F . Among them were 5
LESSER
BLACK-BACKED GULLS. 2 AMERICAN WIGEON were also there among the geese.
Durand-Eastman Park area: PINE SISKINS continue to frequent the area with 6
seen in Durand Park on the 14th and 15 seen on a nearby feeder on the 10th.
Pairs of PILEATED WOODPECKERS have been seen at feeders in Penfield and
Perinton.
