This is a Rare Bird Alert for Southwestern Ohio (Dayton) for
Wednesday, June 17, 2009, sponsored by the Dayton Audubon
Society.

On June 14th, 48 species and 119 individual birds including HOODED,
YELLOW-THROATED and KENTUCKY WARBLER; SUMMER TANAGER, NORTHERN PARULA,
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH and 24 nesting BARN SWALLOWS were
tallied at Aullwood Audubon Center during the Annual Breeding Bird Census.

Seen on June 16th at Aullwood Gardens were PROTHONOTARY and YELLOW-THROATED
WARBLER, and GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER.

On June 16th, observed at Englewood MetroPark South park were nesting
RED-TAILED HAWK and YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO.

On June 15th, COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen over the Oregon District in
downtown Dayton.

On June 15th, observed at Hobart Urban Nature Preserve were  29 species
including BLUE GROSBEAK; FIELD, GRASSHOPPER, and CHIPPING SPARROW, WILLOW
FLYCATCHER and a female PIED-BILLED GREBE with young.
