Welcome to Pennsylvania Audubon's and the Patriot-News' Birdline. This Birdline
covers sightings made primarily during the week prior to Thursday, January 14,
2010.

CENTRE COUNTY:
A light-phase ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen on January 9 and 10 along Taylor Hill
Road near its intersection with Lingle Road or near Route 322 (MH, JD).

A GOLDEN EAGLE flew over Boalsburg on January 9 (TP).

One ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was observed on January 10 along Sinking Creek Road just
off of Route 144 (JD). A light morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen on January 11
near the intersection of Sinking Creek Road and Walker Drive (BF).

One ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was found on January 10 along Middle and Ridge Roads just
beyond Centre Hall (JD).

CLINTON COUNTY:
A light-phase ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen on January 8 next to Shrackville dairy
farm outside of Loganton (JS).

COLUMBIA COUNTY:
Two BALD EAGLES were located on January 8 along the North Branch of the
Susquehanna River between Berwick and Catawissa (DG, CM).

A BALD EAGLE and 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK were observed at Briar Creek Lake on
January 10 (DG).

A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK has been regularly observed at the Columbia County
Agricultural Center along Sawmill Road (CH).

CUMBERLAND COUNTY:
The PRAIRIE FALCON continues to be seen through January 10 along Mud Level Road
near its intersection with Duncan Road (MS, CS).

One LAPLAND LONGSPUR and 1 SNOW BUNTING were seen on January 8 in a flock of
HORNED LARKS along Mud Level and Running Pump Roads (BK).

LANCASTER COUNTY:
A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen on January 9 along Lloyd's Road (AL, AF).

LEBANON COUNTY:
The SANDHILL CRANE continues to be seen at Lake Duffy through at least January 2
 (CS, MS, MD). It was not seen on January 12 (RMi).

LYCOMING COUNTY:
Among the birds observed on January 10 in Cogan House Township in the northern
part of the county were 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, 200 HORNED LARKS and 200 SNOW
BUNTINGS (DF).

MIFFLIN COUNTY:
A BALD EAGLE was observed on January 8 along Route 655 between Reedsville and
Belleville (RJ).

MONTOUR COUNTY:
There were 7 BALD EAGLES along the Susquehanna River between Catawissa and
Sunbury on January 9 (CH, SR).

SNYDER COUNTY:
An AMERICAN PIPIT was observed on January 9 along Shale Pit Road on the west
side of Faylor Lake (DW, PW).

A dark morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was found on January 9 along Middle Creek Road
(DW, PW).

TIOGA COUNTY:
Two BALD EAGLES were observed on January 10 along the Tioga River between the
Pennsylvania/New York line to Lawrenceville (JH, AH).

YORK COUNTY:
The PEREGRINE FALCON continues to be seen through at least January 11 perched on
 the Yorktown or County Judicial Center buildings in the city of York (AE).
