Welcome to Pennsylvania Audubon's and the Patriot-News' Birdline. This Birdline
covers sightings made primarily during the week prior to Thursday, July 8, 2010.

CENTRE COUNTY:
A BLUE GROSBEAK was singing on July 3 north of Snow Show on an old strip mine
field in the area called Pancake (GG,DG).

An immature BALD EAGLE was seen on July 4 perched in a sycamore tree just off
the southwest end of the causeway bridge in Howard/Bald Eagle State Park (BSn).

HUNTINGDON COUNTY:
An adult BALD EAGLE and several CERULEAN WARBLERS were found along the Lower
Trail on July 3 (JD).

LANCASTER COUNTY:
There were 6 BLUE GROSBEAKS along the Turkey Hill trail on the back side of the
Frey Farm/Creswell Landfill on June 30 (ME).

Conejohela Flats yielded 2 adult and 5 immature BALD EAGLES, 1 LESSER
YELLOWLEGS, 6 LEAST SANDPIPERS and 1 PROTHONOTARY WARBLER (BS).

The DICKCISSEL continues to be seen through at least July 6 near the
intersection of Smyrna and William's Run Roads (CC).

A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was also found on July 6 near the #220 mailbox along
William's Run Road (CC).

LEBANON COUNTY:
The CHUCK-WILLS-WIDOW continues to be seen or heard along Tomstown Road through
at least July 1 (DM).



Grassland tours around Fort Indiantown Gap on July 3 found 2 RED-HEADED
WOODPECKERS and 1 BLUE GROSBEAK (DM).

YORK COUNTY:
Six AMERICAN AVOCETS were seen on June 30 and July 1 just off the boardwalk at
Lake Redman (LC, SW).
