My reporting area includes all of Lehigh and Northampton Counties with the
northern edge of the area reaching Beltzville State Park and the southern
edge reaching Peace Valley Park in Bucks County. Updates are typically done
every Thursday, more often when necessary.

Valley Audubon Society, recorded on May 1st at 11:00 PM.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the field trip to the
Martins Creek Environmental Preserve (Tekening) scheduled for May 3rd HAS
BEEN CANCELLED!
There will be a field trip to Jacobsburg State Park on May 4th. Meet at the
Henry's Woods parking lot at the park at 7:30 AM. Trip leader will be Kathy
Sieminski.
Next week's field trips are to the Jordan Creek Parkway on May 10th and the
Monocacy Nature Center on May 11th. Details will be in next week's update.

Least Sandpipers - 3 on 4/25.

Purple Martins - 3 on 4/25 (along Driftwood Road).

Double-crested Cormorants - hundreds daily
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON - 1 on 4/25
Red-breasted Merganser - 1 on 4/28
COMMON TERNS - 24 on 4/29
Purple Martins - 2 on 4/29
White-eyed Vireos - 2 on 4/29.
Also Green Heron, Solitary Sandpiper, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Bald Eagle,
Bank Swallow, Ovenbird, American Redstart, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Birds reported from several sites this past week included: Greater and
Lesser Yellowlegs, Spotted Sandpiper, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Eastern
Kingbird, Wood Thrush, Gray Catbird, Warbling Vireo, Prairie and Yellow
Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Northern Waterthrush,
and Baltimore Oriole.
