northern edge of the area reaching Beltzville State Park and the southern
edge reaching Peace Valley Park in Bucks County. Updates are typically done

Sightings from the SAYLORSBURG area, Monroe County included:
Common Raven, Cape May Warbler, and Purple Finch.
Sightings from the KUNKLETOWN area, Monroe County included:
Herring Gull - 1 on 8/24.
Also Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Swainson's Thrush, Brown
Thrasher, Prairie and Worm-eating Warbler, Scarlet Tanager, and Bobolink.
Sightings from UPPER MOUNT BETHEL TOWNSHIP, Northampton County included:
At a pond at the intersection of Route 611 and Riverton Road:
Stilt Sandpiper - 1 on 8/22
BAIRD'S SANDPIPER - 1 on 8/23 and 8/24.
Also Great Egret, Green Heron, Semipalmated Plover, Greater and Lesser
Yellowlegs, and Pectoral, Solitary, Least, and Semipalmated Sandpiper.
Sightings from the MARTINS CREEK PPL POWER PLANT area, Northampton County
included:
BLUE GROSBEAK - 1 on 8/22.
Sightings from the PEN ARGYL area, Northampton County included:
At the Grand Central landfill:
BLUE GROSBEAKS - 4 on 8/23.
Sightings from JACOBSBURG STATE PARK, Northampton County included:
Green Heron, Bald Eagle, Common Nighthawk, Black-billed and Yellow-billed
Cuckoo, White-eyed Vireo, Great Crested and Least Flycatcher, Brown
Thrasher, Indigo Bunting, Scarlet Tanager, Orchard Oriole, Bobolink, and
warblers that included Magnolia, Chestnut-sided, Prairie, Wilson's, Canada,
Cerulean, Blue-winged, Tennessee, Blackburnian, Black-throated Green, and
Northern Parula.
Sightings from WILLIAMS TOWNSHIP, Northampton County included:
OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER - 1 on 8/25 to at least 8/27.
Also Indigo Bunting, Orchard Oriole, and Bobolink.
Sightings from BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Northampton County included:
EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE - 1 back on 8/14 (at the intersection of Freemansburg
Avenue and Wagner Drive).
BLUE GROSBEAK - 1 on 8/25 (at the end of Fritch Drive).
Sightings from EAST ALLEN TOWNSHIP, Northampton County included:
MOURNING WARBLER - 1 on 8/21 (in a private backyard).
Also Northern Harrier, and Prairie and Tennessee Warbler.
Sightings from LITTLE GAP, Northampton County included:
Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Ovenbird, and warblers that
included Prairie, Wilson's, Canada, Worm-eating, Chestnut-sided,
Bay-breasted, and Blackburnian.
Sightings from BAKE OVEN KNOB, Lehigh County included:
Bald Eagles - 15 on 8/26
Broad-winged Hawks - 32 on 8/21.
Also Merlin, Red-breasted Nuthatch, and Common Raven.
Sightings from the HENNINGSVILLE area, Berks County included:
Red-breasted Nuthatch.
Sightings from GREEN LANE RESERVOIR, Montgomery County included:
At the Church Road area:
Stilt Sandpipers - 3 on 8/22
BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS - 3 from 8/22 to at least 8/25
White-rumped Sandpiper - 1 on 8/20
Caspian Terns - 9 on 8/25; 43 on 8/26 (new high count for our area)
Red-winged Blackbirds - ~3000 on 8/20.
Also Green-winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, Great Egret, Merlin, Semipalmated
Plover, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Spotted, Pectoral, Least, and
Semipalmated Sandpiper, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and Bobolink.
And at nearby Knight Lake:
BLACK TERN - 1 on 8/25.
Sightings from the REVERE area, Bucks County included:
Common Raven.
A little farther afield, 36 Bald Eagles passed by Hawk Mountain Sanctuary on
the 26th.
