On 8/11 at Independence Marsh, sightings included 2 BALD EAGLES (MVas).
CLARION COUNTY:
Near Piney Tract on 8/11, HENSLOW'S SPARROW and others (CW).
In Sligo on 8/16, BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO, WILLOW FLYCATCHER, SWAMP SPARROWS,
PRAIRIE WARBLERS (CW).
CRAWFORD COUNTY:
From last week: from 8/6 to 8/8 in the Pymatuning area, 9 SANDHILL CRANES,
2 GREAT EGRETS, and others (IF); on 8/7 in the Pymatuning area, 4 GREAT
EGRETS, 3 CASPIAN TERNS, 2 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 4 SANDHILL CRANES (MVas).
ERIE COUNTY:
On 8/9 at Presque Isle, 4 COMMON MOORHENS, 1 MERLIN, 20,000+ PURPLE
MARTINS; on 8/12, 3 flyover BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS (CK).
In Harborcreek Township on 8/14, 1 MERLIN (CK).
Through 8/15 in a Wesleyville backyard, 1 RED-HEADED WOODPECKER (CK).
MERCER COUNTY:
From last week: on 8/6 at Shenango Reservoir, 1 GREAT EGRET, 1 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS, 2 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, and more (MVas). On 8/6 at the Game
Commission headquarters ponds at the Shenango Wildlife Area, 2 BLUE-WINGED
TEAL, 4 NORTHERN SHOVELERS, 1 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS,
1 OSPREY, 2 BALD EAGLES, and others (MVas). Through 8/8 at Lake Wilhelm,
OSPREYS (IF).
On 8/9 at Shenango Reservoir, sightings included 1 SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, 1
OSPREY, 1 possible AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, 1 possible YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO
(GG).
VENANGO COUNTY:
From last week: on 8/6 at Kahle Lake, 1 FORSTER'S TERN (RS).
On 8/10 at Kahle Lake, 1 GREAT EGRET, 1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, and others (RS).
WESTMORELAND COUNTY:
From last week: on 8/7 at Mutual Wetlands, 1 GREAT EGRET (MM).
