This is the Austin area Rare Bird Alert for July 8, 2005. A 60-mile radius
circle centered in Austin defines the reporting area. The Austin area RBA is
a service of the Travis Audubon Society.

RUFOUS-CAPPED WARBLER
Today (7-8-05) John Kelley reported seeing a RUFOUS-CAPPED WARBLER at the
West Cave Preserve in Travis Co (http://www.westcave.org/ ). Access to this
preserve is limited. Special tours (30 person limit; $5 entry fee) to see
this bird are planned for the following days at 9:30 AM: July 9,10,11,13 &
15. No reservations are being taken and it is on first-come-first-serve
basis. This bird was first seen on June 30, 2005 and it is an immature; the
rufous cap and white eye stripe are visible, but the yellow under chin is
absent. The bird is not vocalizing and has been difficult to find.
