Howdy, welcome to the Wednesday April 25, 2001 update of the Coastal Bend
Rare Bird Alert sponsored by the Audubon Outdoor Club of Corpus Christi.
This just in, Michael Marsden reports a Painted Redstart (Myioborus pictus)
discovered at 9:30 a.m. at Cayman House Bed and Breakfast. Cayman House is
located at 5030 North Highway 35 north of Rockport proper about a half mile
before you reach the Copano Bay Bridge.
On the twenty-fourth Michael Marsden reports some great shorebirds in the
grassy fields east of Rivera in Kleburg County. Michael reports some
Wilson's Phalarope (Phalaropus tricolor), Buff-breasted Sandpiper
(Tryngites subruficollis), and four White-rumped Sandpipers (Calidris
fuscicollis).
