On Dec 28, Bob Metzler and David Weaver report a female or first winter =
male LONG-TAILED DUCK at Lake O' the Pines, seen from the road on the =
west side of Johnson Creek.
On Dec 28, at dusk, Guy Luneau and Eddie Ray observed the continuing =
SAY'S PHOEBE and 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS at the Sabine Mining Company land in =
Harrison County. From I-20, take the Hallsville exit, go south on FM 450 =
about 2 miles and turn left (east) on FM 968. Go two miles and look for =
the "Pleasant Hill Cemetery" sign and turn right on Hut Horton road. =
The birds were seen from along this road.
On Dec 24, I observed 6 SANDHILL CRANES flying over Richland Creek WMA =
in Freestone County. Unfortunately, they did not stop and continued =
flying south.
