Tarrant County:
A juvenile LONG-TAILED JAEGER* was found yesterday at Lake Benbrook southwest
of Fort Worth. The bird was present all day until sundown and was very easily
seen at close range.
Directions: from Loop 820 on the southwst side of Fort Worth, take H377
southwest through Benbrook. Turn left onto FM1187, located just past the
closed-down Chevron Station. From this junction it is 4.2 miles to the
Winscott-Plover turning - do not take the earlier turn signed for Mustang
Park that is after only about 2 miles; after turning left (north) onto
Winscott-Plover Road, continue straight ahead when the
main road curves left, and thence into the park via an unstaffed pay booth.;
go straight until you reach a stop sign, turn right, and continue through
another closed booth, straight on to the very end of the Point, then drive
onto the gravel beach ( the 2nd "entry" is easier) that juts out to the left;
go to the tip and scan for the bird on the lake
