Dallas County:Good fall migrants and winter residents are being reported from
Spring Creek Park Preserve in Garland. Both Eastern and Spotted Towhees are
being seen. Two Grasshopper Sparrows and three Le Conte's Sparrows were found
November 11th. A Blue-headed Vireo and several Hermit Thrushes were also seen
the same day.
Tarrant County:
A Crested Caracara was seen at Lake Benbrook on November 12th and 13th. The
bird was roosting on a power line pylon, just east of the road, 250 yards
north of the park entrance both. Ten Common Loons were seen on the Lake
itself from the park. Eurasian Collared Doves are being seen in Benbrook at
the junction of HW 377 and Sprowles Rd. Up to three Merlins and a Prairie
Falcon have been reported from Winscott-Plover Rd. A light-morph Rough-legged
Hawk was found today in the same location one was at last year on Aledo Rd in
SW Tarrant County. A Purple Finch was seen yesterday at Village Creek Drying
Beds on the entrance road into the beds.
