"Interestng birds from last week include:
A Goshawk seen by a New Jersey birder at Calaveras Lake on Dec 22.
(Unconfirmed as yet)

Also on Dec 22, an immature Bald Eagle in west Bexar county was spotted
at a large stock tank on the west side of 1604 just north of the Medina
River.

On that same day a birder reported a Florida sub-species of
Red-shouldered Hawk in a woodsy area off a road north of the airport
near the mulch yard on Bitters Road.

In the backyard of a home on the northside of San Antonio an observer
reported on the 26th a number of Slate-colored Juncos,  Rufous-sided
Towhees in addition to the common birds usually seen in the area such as
flocks of American and Lesser Goldfinches and a Downy Woodpecker plus
numerous Ruby-crowned Kinglets .

On the 28th at Calaveras Lake there were  1 American Bittern,
Bonaparte's Gulls, Marsh and Sedge Wrens and a Grasshopper Sparrow.

The Least Grebe is at Mitchell Lake.

On December 27th on the Dauer Ranch Road fields southeast of New
Braunfels off Highway 46 east of the airport there were Longspurs
spotted. Three species: Laplands, McCown's , and 3 Smith's. Also a
Merlin.

A group of 8 to 12 Wood Ducks were spotted in Brackenridge Park on
Avenue A side by the River.

At a place 8 Miles southeast of Bandera, an observer reported seeing 3
pairs of Mountain Bluebirds.

A Rufous Hummingbird is still visiting a backyard on Irvington."
