This is the Wednesday, September 06, 2000, update of Waco area birding
reports sponsored by the Central Texas Audubon Society.
John Muldrow located a VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW this afternoon at the Waco
Metropolitan Area Regional Sewerage System ponds located along the
Brazos River off FM434 1/2 mile east of Loop 340. This species has not
been previously reported for the county and is not on the county
checklist.
Two RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS have been coming daily to feeders on 26th Street
in Gatesville since July 30. This is the same station that has had
Rufous/selasphorous hummers for the last three years. In the past they
have arrived in late July to mid-August and remained until mid-March.
